Simone Biles, considered by many as the greatest gymnast of all time, has made history by winning her record 8th U.S. Gymnastics Championship title.
The 26-year-old superstar gymnast dominated the competition in San Jose, California, posting an all-around two-day total of 118.40, four points clear of runner-up Shilese Jones.
Biles' triumph came a decade after she first ascended to the top of her sport as a teenage prodigy
With her latest victory, she became the oldest woman to win a national title since USA Gymnastics began organizing the event in 1963.
The four-time Olympic gold medalist showcased her unparalleled skills and athleticism throughout the competition.
Her breathtaking floor routine, which earned her a score of 15.400, brought the crowd to their feet. Biles also recorded the highest scores on the vault (14.850) and balance beam (14.800)
Biles' record-setting 8th title surpasses the previous record held by Alfred Jochim, who won seven titles between 1925-33 when the Amateur Athletics Union ran the championships.
