Northern Lights Update: These States Could Get Another Chance At Viewing Aurora Borealis

Forecasters predict that the Northern Lights, or aurora borealis, may be visible again in several U.S. states due to increased solar activity.

Following a recent strong solar storm, there is a "window of opportunity" for sightings, particularly on Sunday and Monday nights. The states most likely to experience this celestial display include:

Montana Washington Idaho Minnesota

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has noted that a sunspot, known as region #3697

is currently in Earth's view and capable of producing intense solar flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs), which are essential for aurora visibility.

While the best viewing conditions are typically between 10 PM and 2 AM, the brightness of the aurora may vary based on geomagnetic storm intensity.

With the current solar cycle reaching its peak, enthusiasts have a promising chance to witness this stunning natural phenomenon in the coming days.
